Recently, neutron scattering experiments have been rapidly progressed under high magnetic field. In the J-PARC, proto-type compact pulse magnet system with the power supply, the coil and the sample stick has been developed. Basic specifications of the power supply are as follows; maximum charged voltage with capacitor is 2 kV, maximum current is 8 kA, repetition rate is a pulse per several minutes and pulse duration is several msec. Maximum magnetic field in the coil is more than 30 Tesla. The sample stick is designed for Orange-Cryostat. In this presentation, We report the details of the pulsed magnet system and the performance of it on neutron scattering experiments at MLF beam line (HRC).

The new injection bump power supply for the shift bump (SB) magnet of the beam injection system at the J-PARC (Japan Proton Accelerator Research Complex) 3-GeV RCS (Rapid-Cycling Synchrotron) has been developed and manufactured. The power capacity of the new power supply demand doubling with the injection beam energy upgrading of the LIANC (Linear Accelerator) from 181 MeV to 400 MeV. Furthermore, the low ripple noise on the output current was required to prevent the occurrence of the resonation between the excitation magnetic field and the RF shield loop covered the ceramics duct at the magnet. The power supply newly adopted a capacitor commutation method to form the trapezoid waveform pattern (bump waveform). This paper reports characteristic about the new shift bump power supply.

We developed a new coil current control system for a power supply that consists of a synchronous generator and diode rectifiers. Test results are reported for the toroidal field coil power supply of JT-60, a world-class tokamak-type fusion device. This coil current control system has been designed to improve the control flexibility of the plasma discharge, and to introduce new functions. A state feedback control method is adopted to control coil current. Limit functions for the generator field current, the generator output voltage, and the toroidal field coil voltage have been added to the original coil current control system. Moreover, the abnormal state detection function of a coil is implemented for safety. The developed new intelligent control system has been tested and its performance was confirmed.

Toward the neutral beam (NB) system of ITER, the prototype of the ITER NB is under construction in the NB test facility (NBTF), Padova, Italy. For the NBTF, Japan Atomic Energy Agency manufactures, transports and constructs the 1MV high voltage power supply components to generate 1 MV, 60 A for 3600 s, which consist of fourteen components such as five DC generators and transmission lines with 100 m in a length. The manufacturing of the power supply components is in progress as scheduled. Three of five DCGs and 80% of the transmission lines have been completed. In the factory, the voltage holding test including the margin of 20% were successfully demonstrated. Then, these are under transportation to the NBTF. The construction work is started from Dec/2015 as scheduled. As the one of R&Ds results, the development of the water choke made of fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) is reported, which is the alternative of the conventional ceramic.
